Speaking on Sunday in Utawala, at the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) St Luke Sanctuary Mihango, the outspoken legislator called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to dismiss the CSs and PSs engaging in politics.

"Your Excellency, there are ministers, Cabinet Secretaries, and Permanent Secretaries ambao wamejitwika jukumu la kufanya siasa (who have engaged in politics) and I think it is high time you told them to choose politics or to do the work you and President Uhuru have given them, " the Kikuyu MP said.

Ichung'wa's strong words come in the context of allegations that some Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries were at the centre of a plot to assassinate Deputy President Dr William Ruto.

The CSs and PSs rebuffed the allegations of being behind the assassination plot, saying that the agenda of their meeting at La Mada Hotel was development oriented.

CSs Peter Munya, Sicily Kariuki, Joe Mucheru and PS Karanja Kibicho have come under blistering criticism over what critics say is their involvement in a scheme to derail DP Ruto's presidential ambitions.

The lawmaker, who is a strong ally of DP Ruto said he would strongly reject what he described as the "politics of ethnic mobilisation and deceit".
