A 60-year-old man from Milaani in Masinga sub-county of Machakos county lost his life on Sunday evening after he was hit on the head with a stone.
The incident was confirmed by Masinga sub-county police commander Francis Siror on Monday.
Siror told journalists that the man was hit with a stone on the head by his son after the two argued.
"The two were in an argument and as he was running after his son who then took a stone and hit him on the head where he died on the spot," said Siror.
The police boss noted that the suspect fled after committing the crime.
He confirmed that police have launched a manhunt for the man in a bid to bring him to justice.
"He escaped after hitting his father but we are hunting for him and we won't stop until we put him behind bars," said Siror.
Siror said that there's need for family members to seek peaceful ways of solving their issues without engaging in violence.
"You can talk over things or even involve a third party if things get worse instead of using violence," he said.
The body was moved to Ndithini mission hospital mortuary for preservation as police begin investigations.
