Education cabinet secretary Prof George Magoha has admitted that crooks have not been completely purged from the examinations system.
Speaking on Monday at the Kenya School of Government (KSG), the tough-talking CS said that there were still individuals in the system, in spite of best efforts to get rid of them, who were duping parents into parting with money for exam leakages.
"There still a few crooks but there will however be no exam that will be seen until the morning of the examination, " he said.
Prof Magoha, however, warned that the Ministry of Education had dispatched officials from the ministry to monitor the conduct of the examinations.
Parents who will fall for the antics of the crooks, the CS further warned, will have themselves to blame as no one will have access to the exams until the morning when they will be done.
He said that those who would attempt to engage in or abet exam cheating would be dealt with accordingly.
The Education CS has been consumed by addressing the menace of cheating in exams, a preoccupation that started when he was appointed as the head of the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec).
He has claimed that since his assumption of office in the Ministry of Education, cases of cheating have substantially gone down.
Prof Magoha said that areas prone to exam malpractices had been painstakingly mapped out and were being closely monitored.
