Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has said that war against corruption is not yet successful due to few or no convictions being witnessed in courts.
The senator was speaking during an interview with NTV on Tuesday.
Mr.Cheruiyot lauded the strides taken by the government through investigative agencies to probe and prosecute culprits with an intention of seeking justice and recovering stolen assets.
He said that credit needs to be given to where it is due. He added that despite numerous challenges and the fact that the struggle is still on, people should not pour cold water on the fruits emanating from concerted efforts of the concerned institutions.
He has further gone ahead to express optimism for learning experiences leading to better strategies of dealing with the crime.
"There is a big room for improvement to be sincere," noted Senator Cheruiyot.
However, he has stated that they still need to do more as leaders whose work is to support the government by giving it constructive feedback on areas that need attention so that the efforts put in come to fruition.
Mr said Cheruiyot said; "As leaders, we know many things that are not being done. It is our duty to speak them out."
On whether the country should declare itself a victor of the fight, he opined; "the final conviction in court is a victory."
