Gedi, a Jubilee member, said that ODM leader Raila Odinga remains very powerful in the constituency, which confirms his allies' narrative that Kibra is his political 'bedroom'.

She argued that it was wrong for Jubilee members to think that they can snatch the region from ODM through their aspirant McDonald Mariga.

"You can't go into Raila's bedroom and expect him to sit pretty. I am a Jubilee member but I can say that the bedroom was locked (Huezi enda kwa bedroom ya Raila na udhani atakaa tu. Mimi ni Jubilee lakini bedroom ilikuwa locked)," she said.

The MP who was among politicians who manned polling stations for ODM's Imran Okoth on Friday made the remarks on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha show on Monday.

She alleged that while Imran floored Mariga by over 14,000 votes, even the little that Mariga had was illegally acquired, due to alleged voter bribery.

She claimed that the votes can be traced back to Deputy President William Ruto, whom she claimed hosted delegations in Karen and showered them with goodies to vote for Mariga.

"Imran had about 25,000 votes. About the other one, we know how he got them. They used lots of money. People would go to Karen to collect money (Imran alipata karibu kura 25,000, huyu mwingine hata hizo alipata tunajua vile alizipata. Walitumia pesa sana, watu walikuwa wanaenda Karen kuchukua pesa)," she added.

Ruto has since claimed that ODM won through violence.
