Police officers in Kisii county are probing the brutal murder of a 25-year-old man whose body was found dumped near Coca-cola company in Kisii on Tuesday.
Kisii township chief George Nyamwaka confirmed the death of Joel Abuga Omari.
Nyamwaka said the deceased hailed from Girango village in Kiomoncha, Kitutu Chache North constituency.
"Omari's body was found dumped in a ditch by the roadside. His body had visible injuries on his neck an indication that he was strangled to death before his body was dumped in the area," stated the administrator.
According to the chief, the deceased was killed elsewhere before his body was dumped in the area.
Kisii police commander Martin Kibet said the body was picked up by police officers from Kisii Central police station and taken to Kisii Teaching and referral hospital morgue for preservation.
"Cases of people being killed under unclear circumstances and bodies dumped are at the peak. I urge the public to report anyone they suspect is behind the killings for legal action to be taken against the lawbreakers," said Kibet.
He assured that police officers are doing everything possible to bring the Omari's killers to book.
