Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has reacted to the news of the passing on of renowned televangelist Reinhard Bonnke.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Passaris mourned Bonnke, saying it was at a crusade presided over by him that she spoke in tongues for the first time.
She also recalled how the German religious leader prayed for her after picking her from a crowd.
"I spoke in tongues for the first time at Rev. Reinhard Bonnke's 1988 crusade. He picked me from the crowd and arranged a meeting where he prayed for God to use me. I send my condolences to his family and his congregation. Rest In Peace, Man of God," Passaris said.
Bonnke's death was confirmed on his Facebook page by his family.
The statement said he died while surrounded by his loved ones.
"Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, it is with sorrow that the Bonnke Family would like to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 7, 2019. For the past 60 years, he has preached the glorious Gospel of Jesus throughout the entire world," Bonnke's family posted on Facebook.
