Emotions ran high at the All Saints Cathedral, as the sons of the late Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso on Thursday recounted their last days with their mother.
Her son Bryan Abonyo, thanked the late governor for the good things she did for him during her lifetime. He said that he was proud to be called her son and promised to stand strong during this moment of trial.
"Thank you for being the exemplary mum that you were to us. Thank you for teaching us virtues of selflessness, patience, perseverance, discipline and diligence. You loved us all so much," he noted.
Ted, Laboso's other son, took to the podium an emotionally apologised for giving his late mother a hard time before her demise. He also said that he was grateful because the mother never gave up on him even when things were not rosy for them.
"Dear mother, thank you for everything you have done for me in my life. Words can’t describe the amount of love I feel for you and forever will feel. Watching your condition in the past few months broke my heart," he said.
"I know how strong you’ve been throughout our lives. You have been a pillar of strength to so many people and you have bravely battled with this illness with all your heart. I apologise for all the instances I gave you a hard time. Thank you for all the unconditional love and for never giving up on me. I promise to be strong and make you proud," he added before leaving the podium.
