Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has been accused of betraying the Gusii community.
Former Nyamira Senator Kennedy Mong'are Okong'o while addressing the press on Wednesday in Nyamira condemned Maangi for joining Deputy President William Ruto's tanga tanga' camp.
"Maangi has betrayed the community by joining DP Ruto's camp. He jumps from one political camp to another seeking relevance in the community politics. No one is forcing him join DP Ruto's camp ahead of the 2022 polls only that he is after serving his greedy interests," Okong'o noted.
Okong'o wondered why Maangi could join DP Ruto's camp yet he is a Deputy Governor allied Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party.
"Maangi's chances to take over from Governor James Ongwae are minimal since the people of Kisii won't trust him. He is already scared that he won't win the gubernatorial seat in 2022 and this could be the reason he is joining 'tanga tanga' movement before its too late," said the vocal politician.
The National Liberal Party leader asked whether Maangi will be able to lead the people of Kisii should he be elected the next governor given that he is jumping from one camp to another.
