Lead prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki asked the court to give her time to establish if one of suspicious gun found at Obado's Migori home was used to commit other crimes.https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001302804/obado-to-spend-night-in-police-cells.

Already, the prosecution has established that the gun in question is not licensed even though the estranged county boss insisted that it was recovered from a thug who had invaded his house.

Defense lawyer Cliff Ombeta termed the probe as 'malicious' adding that the governor should not be detained for 15 days since he's always willing to report to the police station or court whenever needed.

Even though a total of eight guns were recovered, only one is being treated with suspicions since the other seven could be counted for by the DCI.

Currently, Obado is spending his second night at Gigiri police station, just barely three weeks after securing freedom from Industrial Area prison where he had spent 34 days over the alleged participation in the murder of Sharon Otieno, his girlfriend.

Five of the recovered guns belong to AP officers manning his Nairobi compound while one belongs to his embattled aide Caspal Obiero, who is also in prison over the death of Ms Otieno.
