Daudi Nzomo was charged with causing grievous body harm to his wife Evelyn Mwende, charges he pleaded guilty to.

Nzomo on Wednesday appeared before senior magistrate James Maina who ruled that he should serve two years on probation and 10 others in prison.

He was caught clobbering his wife at Kyaaka village in Makueni County last week.

The incident stirred controversies on social media with Makueni leaders calling for Nzomo's immediate arrest.

He was later arrested at his hideout in Nguu Masumba.

The court had ordered that Nzomo be remanded at Makueni police station until today awaiting his case's mentioning when he appeared before it last week.

The court further ordered police to investigate whether the suspect has a history of domestic violence and present a report on the same before it.

However, the prosecutor Eunice Gitau asked for the victim’s impact report in the next appearance.

On Thursday last week, Nzomo’s wife was moved from Makueni Level 4 Hospital's Gyne single patient room to Nairobi Women’s Hospital for further treatment.
