ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga has once again questioned how Deputy President William Ruto made his wealth.
Speaking during an interview on NTV on Sunday, Raila said that Ruto is not ready for a lifestyle audit because he knows very well he made his wealth through dubious means.
He argued that the DP has been mentioned in several scandals in the government, adding that there is no way he can be a clean man as far as leadership and transparency are concerned. He challenged Ruto to come forth and declare his wealth in public.
"If you do a lifestyle audit on Mr. William Ruto, you will find the sources of his money is questionable," he said.
On Thursday last week, Ruto, who spoke to NTV at his Karen home, reaffirmed that he is not corrupt. He, however, refused to reveal his networth. He also promised that he will make Kenya a corrupt free nation when he ascends to power when that time comes.
"If I get the opportunity to run a government, there will be no corruption. There will be no money to steal because every coin will be used. There will be no coin loitering anywhere for anyone to steal," he said.
The DP wondered why he is the only leader who is being asked how he made his wealth when there are other rich persons in the country. He insisted that he is not rich and he has made his money genuinely.
