Local leaders led by ODM Vice Chairman Jeremiah Lomorukai and expelled Governor Josephat Nanok received the former Prime Minister at Lodwar airstrip.

Mr Nanok had been removed from the VC position in June after it emerged that he was supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 bid.

"Thank you Lodwar for the warm welcome and I look forward to attending this years edition of the Turkana Tourism and Cultural Festival, Tobong'u Lore. Asanteni," Odinga said after addressing a rally in Lodwar.

Siaya Senator James Orengo is among prominent leaders accompanying Odinga. He is in the inner circle and has already hinted that Odinga will have a fifth stab at presidency.

"Arrived in Lodwar to attend the annual Turkana Tourism and Cultural Festival; Tobong'u Lore. When our cultures gather strength to go on for centuries, it only shows the unity we can have in our diversity as a country. Thank you for the warm welcome," he said.

Also present is Suna East MP Junet Mohamed. Mr Mohamed has risen to be Mr Odinga's most trusted ally evident during the March 9th handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Of all politicians within ODM, it's only Junet who knew about the handshake. He has previously confessed of being in Odinga's 'kitchen cabinet'.
