In 2017, Samkiz, a youthful entrepreneur, unsuccessfully vied for the Huruma Ward Representative seat.

He lost during the Jubilee party nominations.

While addressing youths at Maili Nne in Turbo Constituency on Saturday, Samkiz said he is fit for the job and that it was time for him to serve the Turbo Constituency residents as their MP.

“I want to declare today that come 2022 I will be vying for the Turbo parliamentary seat on a Jubilee party ticket. My aim is to transform the lives of people of Turbo and make it better than it is now,” he said.

Samkiz is also a youth leader in the constituency.

The Turbo MP seat is currently being held by Janet Sitienei who vied on an Independent ticket and defeated Kevin Okwara of Jubilee party.

“I want to call on residents to support my bid since they won't regret electing me. I will bring all communities together for economic growth and peace for the different tribes living in the constituency,” he said.

According to Samkiz, he decided to vie for the Turbo parliamentary seat after Deputy President William Ruto recently said that everyone no matter their tribal affiliations have a right to lead as it's people who choose their leaders.
