Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has sarcastically claimed that Deputy President William Ruto can be easily charged with murder in a court of law, over his public utterances on certain issues.
On Sunday, Dr Ruto hit at ODM leader Raila Odinga, claiming that he's engaging in local politics contrary to his job description of AU Infrastructural Development duties.
“Negotiations of the AU position did not include prospecting for minerals or merchandise of any nature. All his job description involves is Africa’s basic structure,” he said as quoted by the Nation.
Mr Odinga was appointed to the position in October 2018, six months after he reconciled with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
And in a tweet, Mr Abdullahi claimed that Dr Ruto can be charged for murder over the statement, terming them as 'malice aforethought'.
"DP Ruto is simply too brutal. In law, he can be charged with murder for his statement satisfies the legal prerequisite to commit murder which in law is called 'malice aforethought'," he said.
On Monday, Odinga hit back at Ruto, insisting that he was not aware of such plans over his AU duties, adding that he would have worked hard to spoil them.
“We don't know what Ruto is party to and what he is not. If he had his way, he would be party to everything and anything,” Mr Odinga's spokesman Denis Onyango told the Nation.
“What we know and I believe all Kenyans know is that Ruto can never be party to anything that uplifts Raila Odinga. If he was party to those talks, he must have joined to stop it but failed.”
