Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti is among the most vocal female politicians in Ukambani.
The Wiper politician is vocal, especially on matters democracy, justice and respect to human rights.
Ndeti has continued to win the hearts of many people due to her resolve to agitate for electoral justice.
She was recently honored by the United Nations (UN) for championing transformative leadership.
On Friday as the World celebrated the International Women’s day, Ndeti had a strong message for women.
Here is what she shared with her fellow women to celebrate the International Women’s day.
“A strong woman loves, natures, encourages, offers positive energy, forgives, perseveres, looks forward not matter what life throws at her. On this #InternationalWomensDay, I choose to celebrate all the strong women who have decided not to sit around feeling sorry themselves,” Ndeti tweeted on Friday.
Several women leaders led the International Women's Day celebration across various parts of the country.
In Kitui, Governor Charity Ngilu urged women to stand firm and demand for representation in leadership.
Ngilu said the Constitution has given women the voice to speak.
She addressed the press in Kitui town on Friday.
Ngilu said despite the challenges facing women, they have a chance to push for inclusivity.
She asked Parliament to re-table the two-thirds gender Bill in the House.
The Bill has flopped four times due to quorum hitches.
