Kangundo Central Member of County Assembly (MCA) Moses Mitaa has urged residents to protect government projects in order to benefit from them.
Speaking on Tuesday in Kangundo town, Mitaa expressed concerns that a lot of projects have been vandalised by unknown people yet the government has put a lot of money into them.
The MCA further observed that streetlights in Kangundo town had been stolen by unknown people.
"The government is investing a lot into these projects and the least we can do as beneficiaries is to ensure they are not stolen or destroyed," said Mitaa.
He also revealed that days ago, a transformer at Kwa Senga area was stolen by unknown but skilled people.
"The vandalism is done by skilled people who use ladders, its either they are former KPLC workers or contractors," noted the MCA who urged residents to be each other's keepers by ensuring they report anyone found vandalising projects in the area.
Mitaa at the same time urged residents living near Kanzokea mountain to preserve the environment and avoid tree logging and charcoal burning.
He spoke after launching distribution of seeds to farmers from his ward where over 1,000 farmers benefited with the planting seeds from the county government of Machakos.
Every ward was allocated 10,000 kilograms of planting seeds where farmers were urged to plant early as the rainy season beckons.
