President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government will be the first to go into history for disobeying court orders, Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has said.
Speaking on Sunday in Ziwa, Soy Constituency, Uasin Gishu County, Kuria said that he is shocked by the government's actions.
The lawmaker lamented that the police denied him freedom even after an order from the court. He also highlighted the case of deported lawyer Miguna Miguna who is yet to come back after the court orders were disobeyed.
Kuria said that it is time the government started respecting orders from the courts.
"I can't believe when we want to finish the race, the government has started to defy court orders. The government of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, the seat I am currently occupying and the shoes I wear belonged to Jomo he left for me I didn't buy them from bata. There is no day Jomo disobeyed court orders. Moi never disobeyed court orders. Kibaki never disrespected court orders. Do you want the Jubilee regime to be first to disobey court orders?
Jamani mnataka serikali ya Jubilee tuingie kwenye historia sis indo wakwanza kukataa Mambo ya kortini)" he said.
Kuria was arrested on Friday for allegedly assaulting a woman at the Royal Media Services (RMS) office on December 8.
He was locked up at Kilimani Police Station only to be released a day later despite the court granting him Sh50,000 anticipatory bail.
