Telcom Kenya Chief Executive Officer Mugo Kibati has mourned veteran journalist Nderitu Ndegwa whose death was revealed by a relative.
According to the relative, Ndegwa, who plied his trade as a business journalist for Capital FM before pursuing individual projects, succumbed to a bout of acute pneumonia.
"Woke up again with deep sadness and disbelief. 48 hours ago, my nephew, former 98.4 CapitalFM Kenya business reporter Nderitu Ndegwa was ripped from our family and his community by acute pneumonia. He was the funniest and most generous man I watched grow up," Irungu Houghton, uncle to the deceased posted.
Reacting to the news, the Telcom Kenya supremo recounted meeting the former journalist at past events, describing him as a wonderful spirit.
"Oh no - very saddened to hear this. I met Nderitu Ndegwa often at your events and he was a wonderful spirit," Mugo Kibati wrote on Twitter.
Burial arrangements for the former Capital FM business reporter have not yet been made public as the family comes to terms with the loss.
His reporting at Capital FM saw him nominated for the Tourism Awards.
He did his graduate studies at the Limkokwing University, Malaysia, where he pursued a broadcast journalism course according to his LinkedIn profile.
