Nominated MP Maina Kamanda has once again lauded the ongoing good relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga, after their March 2018 truce.
According to Kamanda, the handshake has done wonders for the nation, observing that through it, peace has been enhanced to an extent that ODM's rival parties were allowed to campaign in Kibra peacefully.
In an article published on the Star on Friday, Kamanda opined that the same should continue for the nation to realize her goals.
"The handshake has created wonders for this country and it is my prayer that nobody should either abuse it or ridicule its impact," says the vocal parliamentarian.
He said the Mt Kenya region is fully behind the handshake with the intention of helping the president realize his legacy, and now wants politicians from the area who have defied Uhuru's anti-politicking directive to stop.
He said the handshake effect was witnessed in Kibra where those against it were defeated.
"Those who tried to sabotage the handshake in Kibra were embarrassed and taught a bitter lesson," he opined.
