During the Tuesday's celebration at his Tente home, the governor remained indoors despite dozens of supporters gathering outside for celebration.

And the infighting within the office of the County Secretary made the governor to stay away for neutrality.

"He didn't want to be part of the infighting. All those involved are his close friends.

"To avert a possible drama, he had to keep off the matter until he solves it," said an aide who spoke in confidence.

Suspended County Secretary Erick Onchana has since launched a case in Kisumu Labour Relations Court thus leading to stalemate.

A letter purportedly from the governor, who was then off duty, asked Mr. Onchana to handover to his assistant Thomas Nyariki.

Both parties have openly clashed leading to closure of County Secretary officers.
