Mr Magaya, who is serving in Films and Classification Board, has been battling heart attack, something that he admits that has completely impaired him financially.

But in a tweet on Tuesday, the Raila Odinga-led party insisted that Magaya remains instrumental in the course, adding that the party is aware of his struggles and challenges.

"The ODM Party is aware that Nasa CEO Norman Magaya has been unwell. We continue to support him in every possible way and wish him quick recovery. Every request for support has been dealt with as and when received by the party," the party said.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed's aide Seth Odongo alias Dikembe Disembe had raised the matter about Magaya, arguing that he had been neglected.

Mr Odongo further claimed that Magaya may have been poisoned at Bomas of Kenya during the tallying of presidential results in 2017.

"Some people were saying Mr Kawino (Finance Director) is the problem, or Charles Memba (Accountant); but I reject these insinuations. If the party leader made a pronouncement on Magaya, it is the ED to effect it. If not, that matter goes to the SG," he claimed.

ODM Executive Director Oduor Ong'wen had also dismissed claims that the party has ignored Mr Magaya, adding that he still receives monthly stipends from the party.

"DD this is not true. Norman Magaya gets a monthly stipend from ODM National Secretariat. Equivalent to what he was earning as NASA CEO. It’s important to verify facts," he said.

Mr Odongo claimed that Raila had instructed ODM officials to help Magaya. In April, Mr Odinga visited Magaya at Nairobi Hospital where he was admitted.
