Deputy President William Ruto and Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong’i have mourned the death of former West Mugirango MP Henry Obwocha.
DP Ruto took to his Facebook account to mourn Obwocha’s death.
“Condolences to the family, friends and the people of West Mugirango in Nyamira County following the passing on of former minister Henry Obwocha.
"Mr. Obwocha served the country with distinction, mettle and performed admirably in the planning and national development docket,” wrote DP Ruto.
Ruto added that Obwocha who was a member of the national economic and social council and brilliant economist, played important role in drafting Vision 2030 that informs our aim to transform Kenya into an industrialized, middle income economy with high quality of life for its citizens.
“Obwocha’s intellect, shrewdness and diligence will be missed. Let him rest in peace,” added Ruto.
On the other hand, Tong’i felt sorry for the family of the late minister.
“Rest in eternal peace Hon. Henry Obwocha. Our prayers, thoughts and well wishes are with your family and the people of West Mugirango. May God’s grace be upon them during this difficult period of mourning,” wrote Tong’i.
Obwocha served as West Mugirango MP from 1997-2007 when he lost to ODM’s James Gesami.
