Speaking just months after an operation that saw a number of reputable clubs closed down, Sonko said he would revoke their licenses if the owners did not stick to laid-down regulations.

Sonko said that since candidates were sitting their examinations, club owners must ensure that they don't play loud music to cause disturbance to children in their areas.

‘‘We are keen in ensuring that our candidates are not disturbed during this period and those will defy this directive will face the full force of the law,’’ he warned.

Noise pollution enforcement head Lawrence Mwangi has supported Sonko's stance saying that he has already arrested 15 people over the same.
