President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message to condolence to the family of Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago after his brother was found dead in a lodging.

Uhuru said that John Kirwa Mandago's death was a big blow to the nation. He promised to stand with the family during this tough time. The deceased’s body was discovered in an unfinished house in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu county.

“The President gave the directive when he sent a message of condolence and comfort to the family of Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago, whose brother was found dead in an unfinished house in Eldoret recently,” read a statement from State House.

Police have already embarked on the probe into the murder. Ten people, whose identities have not been revealed, have been questioned over John's death.

 Moiben Deputy County Commissioner Lilian Lagat has confirmed the probe.

“Ten people have recorded statements and investigations into the death of the man are ongoing. Those who recorded are locals who gave their accounts as Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officials probe the matter,” Lagat said. 

Uhuru also condemned the increased incidences of murder in the country. He said that the deaths have caused tension and promised to act. 

Police have assured the family of the deceased that the matter will be addressed accordingly.
