Nakuru County Police Commander Stephen Matu has said that his officers will hunt for a criminal gang dubbed 'Confirm', which has been terrorizing Nakuru Town residents.
Speaking on Tuesday, the police boss said that the police are keen on proceeding with its offensive on the gang, which has been breaking into houses and robbing people on the road.
He said that so far, the police have managed to force the gang members, majority of them teenagers, out of its initial operating zones in Nakuru East, especially Bondeni Estate.
“Most of its members have shifted to Railways, London and Hilton estates following a consistent crackdown by the police,” he told the Nation.
Matu said that members of the gang will be dealt with ruthlessly, adding that the police have been deployed to its new area of operation to smoke it's members out.
He rubbished claims from residents, who claim that the police have been bribed not to arrest Confirm members. According to him, 100 members were arrested in October.
The police boss added that the suspects were banned while allegedly planning to commit a felony.
This is even as residents claim that the gang members have devised new ways to avoid police during raids
