This is after the governor was pictured with Asman Kamama who is said to be a staunch Ruto ally.

Speaking on Saturday in Tiaty constituency, the outspoken legislator said that the county boss had gone against the Kenya African National Union (KANU) party by openly associating with DP Ruto's allies.

He maintained that the Pokot community would rally behind Baringo Senator Gideon Moi who is the independence party leader.

"We have said that all Kalenjins and the people of Pokot will rally behind Gideon Moi after President Uhuru Kenyatta leaves office. (Kalenjin yote, tumesema sauti ya Wakalenjin na Wapokot wote ya kwamba baada ya Mweshimiwa Kenyatta ni Gideon Moi, " Kamket said. (Video 0:30-0:40).

Lonyangapuo elected as West Pokot governor in 2017 on a KANU ticket has not publicly stated who he will support for the presidency in 2022.

His association with DP Ruto appears to be ruffling feathers in the party.

Kamket is strongly opposed to the deputy president's 2022 presidential bid, saying that the DP is not fit to hold the country's highest political office.
