The late Kenyatta University don Peter Macharia Mugambi was on Tuesday laid to rest at their home in Michatha , Molo.
Before his demise, Mugambi was a lecturer at the Department of Kiswahili where he tutored Kiswahili Language and Literature in Kiswahili.
The don, who was eulogized as a funny man who always left his students in stitches, succumbed to Kidney stones.
The sleepy Michatha village was awakened by academic giants who walked in to bide goodbye to their fallen colleague.
The giants were led by Kenyatta University Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) Prof John Okumu who represented Vice-Chancellor Prof Paul Wainaina.
Mugambi left behind two widows and four children.
