A Member of Parliament has warned Deputy President William Ruto against relying on the Mount Kenya votes.
According to Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo, the DP should create new alliances across the country for him to become president.
He made the remarks over the weekend at Nkoben Primary School in Narok South during the commissioning of a dormitory and classrooms
“My advice to the DP is to know that Mt Kenya has never been reliable. After Kibaki tenure, I was in Wiper and we (Kambas) were promised support for Kalonzo for President but what happened? Ruto should look for new alliances in Ukambani, Nyanza and across the country if he is to be President,” said Kilonzo.
This comes amid reports that the Jubilee Party is divided over President Uhuru’s plan to fight graft.
Additionally, the leaders have claimed that the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga is to blame for the wrangles.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has called for an emergency meeting with all Jubilee legislators to mend the party that is on the brink of collapse.
