Monica Kimani was found in her apartment in Kilimani dead.

Her hands were tied, throat slit open and the body dumped in the bathtub. The killers did this after turning up her sound system to apparently drown any noise.

When her brother accessed her house through the window, he found the TV on high volume and bathtub running.

Her sister lay there; lifeless. Blood was oozing from the deep cut on her neck.

"Tulivunja mlango tukaingia, nilipata amekatwa shingo na ako dipped in a bathtub with all her hands tied and the water was running," George Kimani, her brother, broke into tears as he narrated the traumatizing scene.

Discovery of the body on Thursday, September 20,1pm, at Luciane Apartments on Kitale Lane off Denis Pritt Road left the place in a somber mood.

The young lady had reportedly returned from South Sudan on Wednesday before she met two friends at her house the same night.

There were, however, no clear details on what friends she met, for how long and when did they leave.

Her mother tried to reach her the following day, Thursday, but in vain forcing the brother to rush and check why she was not picking her phone or replying to text messages.

The deceased was the first born in a family of three.

The gruesome murder comes days after another 26-year-old woman was murdered and her body dumped in a thicket in Homa Bay.

A politician and his aides have been linked to the murder.

In the Kilimani case, detectives swung into action immediately with a promise to bring the killers to book.
