MPs allied to Ruto from Nyanzan region believes that the trip will be meaningless without Ruto being on board.

"We all want reconciliation and unity. This can be achieved if all leaders are brought on board," said South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro.

He added: "The trip will make sense if Ruto is also included. Persistent discrimination against him does not change much."

Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i said the trip will be significant with Ruto on board, sentiments that were backed by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi.

"I don't see the reason why Ruto should not come. They should also include him so that we move together as a team."

Both Uhuru and Raila Odinga are expected to start their trip at Kisumu, then Siaya, Homa Bay, Migori and then end at Kisii on Sunday.
