Atwoli has been listing himself among the powerful men in Kenya, remarks that have been questioned by political analyst Martin Andati, who has questioned the basis of the remarks.

In an interview on Monday, he argued that the claims are untruthful, as they are not based on any poll or election, though Uhuru and Raila can be said to be first and second respectively.

He pointed out that though it is true that Atwoli has supporters, he must use the influence he has to serve the interests of the workers he represents and not boasting about it.

"The only votes we saw were those of Uhuru and Raila, we don't know where his were cast. Its true he has supporters but let him use his influence to assist the workers (Kura tulizoziona ni za Uhuru na Raila, so hatujui zake zilipigiwa wapi. Ni kweli ako na wafuasi wengi lakini aitunie ushawishi wake kusaidia wafanyikazi)," he said.

He spoke on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha.

Andati further cautioned Atwoli against his unending attacks on Deputy President William Ruto, saying that that too does not benefit his subjects in any way.

He noted that while the enmity between Atwoli and Ruto might have begun when both were members of the KANU party, it should be kept personal.

"His attacks on Ruto benefits no one. His job as a leader of workers is not attacking people. They might have clashed during their days in KANU but that should be kept away (Kuongea akipiga Ruto haisaidii yeyote, kama kiongozi wa wafanyikazi, kazi yake sio kupiga watu. Huenda walikosana kule KANU lakini wasilete vita vyao hapa)," he added.

Atwoli has also repeatedly declared that Ruto will not achieve his 2022 presidential bid and might not even be in the ballot.
