The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has banned Tetema, Wamlambez clubs, and bars from playing in clubs and bars. KFCB Ezekiel Mutua Boss made the announcement on Tuesday in a bid to curb morals in the entertainment sector.
He said that the government is not ready to tolerate songs that lack morals in the coming years.
He noted that more stringent measures are set to be put in place to ensure the music released the general public is in line with the regulations of the country.
Mutua also urged musicians to stick to the required code of conduct as they release songs.
"It's embarrassing to see even national leaders singing and dancing to the obscenity. The lyrics are not suitable for public consumption, especially children. Both songs are pure pornography" he said.
Diamond’s Tetema has been attracting endless view on YouTube and platforms since the song was launched. Wamlambez, which was released by Sailors, is among the top hits.
Sailors have also released several songs since they entered the entertainment sector. The new hits have since seen them get endless shows across the country.
The new development has already started to elicit mixed reactions from different factions. Here are some of the reactions we sampled online.
