Nurses in Kisii county have dared Governor James Ongwae to sack them.
Led by the union of nurses Kisii branch assistant secretary Eric Rioba, the nurses said they would not be intimidated by sack threats.
"No nurse is going to report back to work until the county government meets our demands. Ongwae's will be in more trouble if he sacks us. For the county boss to know peace let him meet the demands for us to return back to work," he said on Saturday.
Mr Rioba said it won't be business as usual in Kisii County if the county sacked nurses.
"We are demanding our rights. Anyone planning to sack nurses for demanding what belongs to them is calling for trouble. No intimidation or blackmail will succeed to force nurses to return to work," he added.
He warned trained but, jobless nurses against rushing to take up job slots in the government.
"Nurses planning to be hired to replace the nurses who are on job boycott will not find peace at the workstations. We are fighting a war which will see nurses in future living a better life," he stated.
This comes after the county boss issued a statement through the county secretary Patrick Lumumba on Friday, saying striking nurses will be sent home for failing to heed to court orders.
