Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has mourned top KCSE student Norah Borus Jelagat who died at Stanford University where she was studying.
In an evening post on Sunday, the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator expressed his shock, saying that Norah's father and mother were his friends.
He revealed that the former Precious Blood Girls Riruta student scored a first class honours in her Electronics Engineering degree.
"Folks, it is with profound shock and utter disbelief that I have learnt that the family of my friends WHO's Prof Peter Borus and the Ministry of Agriculture's Dr Diana Borus has lost their last born child Ms, Norah Jelagat Borus, who is posthumously graduating with a First Class degree in Electronics Engineering at Standford University, USA, on the 29th day of June, 2019, " Senator Murkomen wrote.
Murkomen said that he was eager to know what was the cause of death of the promising student.
He also revealed that the best friend of the Stanford University student was the best pupil in the 2005 KCPE.
Her parents travelled to the United States today with the aim of establishing the circumstances of Jelagat's death.
"Jela, you were excellent, you were brilliant! We shall tell the world that you still are the brilliant girl whose excellence can only be matched by the E/Marakwet athletes in the world arena. Jela was the fourth best KCSE candidate nationally, the second best girl nationally and the best Candidate in Nairobi County in 2013 after sitting the exam at Precious Blood, Riruta.
"We are eager to know the truth, Jela, and we pray for justice for you and your family. Rest in Peace our E/Marakwet ambassador. (For info, Jelimo, her friend, was the best in 2005 KCPE), " Murkomen continued.
