The station is based at Chepkoilel on the outskirts of Eldoret town.

According to the County Executive (CeC) in charge of Agriculture Samuel Yego, the county has already acquired modern machinery including tractors and its implements.

"Sustainable mechanization can increase land productivity by facilitating timeliness and quality of cultivation. As we embark on this planting season, we need to ensure that all tractors and its implements are in good working condition," said Yego after visiting the station on Monday.

The station will offer services such as ploughing, harrowing, bed forming, subsoiling, seed drill, planting, potato harvesting, combine harvesting, mowing, shredding and boom spraying.

“All these services are offered at a cost of Sh1,271 per hour except for combine harvesters that costs Sh1,500 per hour but the farmer meets the fuel costs as well,” noted the CeC.

The machines have an automatic login system to calculate productive hours hence very convenient as the office can automatically monitor them.
