Manchester United's left-back Luke Shaw was quick to mock former player mate Romelu Lukaku after Inter Milan crashed out Champions League.
Immediately after Barcelona defeated Inter two goals to one and thus kicking them out of the coveted Champions League, Luke Shaw took to Twitter to welcome Lukaku to Europa League.
"Welcome back," he tweeted while captioning Lukaku's photo taken when he was training for the game.
Lukaku's Inter Milan was supposed to beat Barcelona and equal Borussia Dortmund's results who were playing against Slavia Prague and proceed to the rounds of 16 on head-on merit.
However, Inter failed to impress on their own home ground, even after Barcelona had picked a lesser experienced team, leaving out world best player, 2019 ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi and the likes of Luiz Suarez starting from the bench.
The results meant Lukaku and his teammates join Europa League.
Coincidentally, Lukaku was once again knocked out of the last season Champions League by the same Barcelona, when he was at Manchester United.
He failed to impress at United before he was offloaded to Italy after united failed to finish in the top four of the English Premier. League to earn them a ticket to the Champions League, but Europa League.
Luke Show used this opportunity to welcome Lukaku back to the Europa League.
England teams that have booked a place in the rounds of 16 include Victor Wanyama's Tottenham Hotspur, Divock Origi's Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.
