Muslim Youth Forum (MYF) led by Mohamed Yusuf claimed that they have been undergoing through difficult times in processing for their national identity cards.

"Officers in the office of registration of persons have been taking us in cycles when we go to process for our national identification cards. We need the documents because we are Kenyans who deserve recognition. Matiang'i should intervene and order the officers in charge produce the documents," said Yusuf in Kisii town on Wednesday.

According to Yusuf, registration officers ask Muslim youths to produce death certificates of their parents which are difficult to get.

"We are being asked to produce documents of our death parents which we can't trace so that we can get our IDs processed. Mr Matiang'i should urgently come to our rescue," he added.

He said they are being stateless because none of the youths who have attained 18 years and above is possessing an ID card.
