Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has found himself on a rocky political path after Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua claimed he is poor at leadership.
In a series of tweets on Sunday and Monday, Mutua paints a picture of Kalonzo as a man working round the clock to frustrate development in the three counties of Machakos, Makueni and Kitui.
He said were it not for the 'negative' efforts of the former Vice President, the three counties would be developed far better today.
"We are questioning someone's capacity to lead- we are questioning their development record. Why would one want to be the kingpin for a poor people?" Mutua tweeted.
"Wiper leadership is Hypocritical. Wiper MCAs have been destabilizing the three Ukambani counties under instructions from Kalonzo. This is what we will not accept any more. Truth is, there have been machinations by a certain party from the region to destabilize the counties. The incidences across the three counties are perpetuated by this party's leadership," he added.
Kalonzo and Mutua have been at loggerheads since 2013 when the latter won the Machakos gubernatorial seat.
Their differences emanated when Mutua allegedly began associating with the Jubilee administration after he clinched the seat, a development that seemed to have angered Kalonzo who was firmly in the opposition.
Mutua, just like Kalonzo has declared an interest in the presidency in 2022 and is keen on bagging the Kamba community votes when that time comes.
Kalonzo is presently seen as the political kingpin of Ukambani, though Mutua disputes this claim.
The governor says the Wiper leader's grip on the region has dwindled and he should consider quitting politics.
