At Siaya on Sunday, the Senate Minority Leader said President Kenyatta's legacy could be badly impaired if he fails to crack a whip against those allegedly engaging in early campaigns.

Orengo, a close ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga, said those in government opposing Big 4 agenda and Building Bridges Initiative, should be shown exit door for the sake of peaceful coexistence.

The Senior Counsel warned that should Uhuru fail to take action, his gains could be overshadowed in coming days, something that would potray him as a lame duck president.

"Uhuru Kenyatta, use your presidential powers and sack rebels. If there is anybody in your formation, who has not been persuaded that your programme, which is the Big 4 agenda and BBI, and bringing up the new constitutional dispensation for the people of Kenya, please don't waste time, the time is now. This is because, three years in politics, is very expensive," he said.

In the past, Uhuru has often warned those campaigning, something that provoked him in June when he attended Akorino Conference in Kasarani.

The President has often insisted that his main focus is on the Big 4 agenda, besides uniting the country with his former competitor Raila Odinga.

"We should unite and face the problems we have head-on. It’s not time for politics, the right time will come, the most important thing now is to fix the problems that we have been facing each year that makes Kenya to have a bad image before and after elections.”

Deputy President William Ruto and a number of his allies have been accused of engaging in early campaigns, even though he has often insisted that he's keen to help Uhuru deliver.
