Ngeria Girls' High School teacher, Gloria Jepleting Sang'utei, who was murdered and her body found dumped at a maize plantation in Outspan in the outskirts of Eldoret town has been laid to rest at her home in Ziwa.
The cause of her death is yet to be established as police continue with investigations.
Speaking during the burial ceremony on Friday, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi condemned the incident and called on the police to bring the culprits to book.
“I am saddened by the death of Gloria. How can a person of proper mind do this to a very young soul? What did she do to deserve such a cruel death?” asked the vocal legislator.
Police have since arrested a man who is reported to have been married to the slain teacher before they divorced.
“I ask the police to speed up their investigations now that they are holding a key suspect. It's sad and agonising to lose such a young strong lady with a promising future,” added the Jubilee Member of Parliament.
Sudi further told young men and women that marriage is not a bed of roses, adding that they should solve their problems amicably instead of resorting to killing someone.
