This is after CAF banned Joash Onyango and Captain Harun Shakava and slapped the team with a fine of Sh1 Million, on what it termed as the duo's unsporting behavior during the CAF Champions League match against Lobi Stars played at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Nigeria.

It is believed that Onyango abused the referee while Shakava is reported to have kicked Lobi Star custodian John Lawrence.

The report noted that Joash and Shakava's misconduct behavior was a result of a scuffle with John Lawrence after the home crowd invaded the field.

"CAF Disciplinary board has imposed upon your club a fine of $10,000 ($5,000 each for the unsporting behavior of players," read the statement by CAF disciplinary Board Chairman, Raymond Hack.

As a result of the crowd trouble, the Disciplinary Board also found Lobi Star guilty and imposed the team with a fine of Sh1.5 Million; owing to fans' invasion of the field, John Lawrence unsporting behavior and master of ceremony's misconduct for inciting the fans to push visiting team.

Joash and skipper Shakava having missed Sunday's game against New Stars in which Gor Mahia won 2 - 1; will not travel to Doula as they are required to miss two CAF matches.

Gor Mahia has 60 days to pay the fine. Albeit, they can appeal the decision by writing to the CAF Appeal Board within 3 days upon reception of the decision notice.

In addition, they will be required to deposit a certain amount of money before submitting the appeal.
