Matisi ward MCA in Saboti constituency, Trans Nzoia County, Obed Mwale Mahanga has distributed 700 mini gas cookers.
Mwale who was elected who on an Amani National Congress(ANC) party ticket on Tuesday delivered he mini gas cookers to 700 families in his ward.
"I managed to offer 700 families with gas cookers in the first phase of the Ondoa Moshi campaign and I look forward to reaching all the 5000 households within 3 years, " Mwale noted.
The youthful legislator believes this will aid in environmental conservation.
He opines that it will discourage deforestation as well as offer an efficient affordable source of energy to the locals.

Locals have praised him as a hardworking, focused and inspiring leader.

Congratulations mheshimiwa, your name will never be forgotten when history is written," Kipsach Steve, a youth in Trans Nzoia acknowledged him.
Mwale's move could be considered a pilot programme as the government had earlier stated that it will launch a similar programme to cut down on the usage of kerosene and charcoal among Kenyans.
