Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga was on Thursday received by embattled Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu for the second time in as many months.
Governor Waititu, who has been supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, is said to be under EACC surveillance over alleged graft.
At Ruaka, Waititu took Mr Odinga around with a number of investors during the handing over of various house units that are meant to greatly curb housing crisis within Nairobi and neighboring Kiambu.
"Presided over the official handing over ceremony of a housing project that has been developed by @CytonnInvest in Ruaka, Kiambu. We may differ on how the dream of providing decent housing can be financed but we can't debate the need for new public housing units in urban centres," Mr Odinga said.
Two months ago, the two leaders met in Ruaka where Waititu said he has no issues with Mr Odinga. But in a rejoinder, Odinga said he does not need anyone's permission to visit anywhere in Kenya.
For months now, Waititu seems to have gone slow on rallying behind DP William Ruto. They last held a join rally in early June and the governor was booed at Githurai.
On Friday, Waititu surfaced again where insisted that the corruption case he's facing would crumble, adding that investigators are pursuing political interests.
"I have heard people saying that I am being sought by the police. But I have been around! The case is baseless. I have a right to include my wife and daughter in the company," he said.
Mr Waititu has been helping Dr Ruto traverse the country, arguing that Central Kenya region owes him ahead of 2022 polls. He is viewed as a critical player.
