Korane says that information on social media that he canceled a cheque are malicious and meant to taint his character.

Governor Korane said that he at no point canceled a cheque he had issued to Mukhtar who is battling his life in Intensive Care Unit.

“It is pure propaganda by people who want to taint my character and incite Garissa residents against my leadership,” he said told journalists in Garissa Town on Sunday.

The governor maintained that he has nothing to do with the former CEC attempted murder.

Last week, social media was awash with claims that Korane had cancelled a cheque he had issued in support of Mukhtar’s medical fund.

On Sunday, the governor is said to have sent over Sh2 Million contribution to settle Mukhtar’s medical bills.

Garissa Township MP Aden Duale confirmed Korane’s contribution.

Over Sh21 Million was raised in support of the CEC who is fighting for his life in hospital.

Governor Korane is among people who were quizzed in relations to Mukhtar’s attempted murder.
