Activist Boniface Mwangi has been claiming for a long time that the land was grabbed by Senator Kimani Wamatangi.

He made the claims through a tweet last year August.

"Senator Kimani Wamatangi has grabbed an entire footpath and public space opposite Nyayo Stadium. Ask him about that. Governor Mike Sonko when are you demolishing Kimani Wamatangi illegal containers?" the controversial activist tweeted last year

In another tweet on Friday, Mwangi said the said structure had finally been brought down.

The activist also asked the police to prosecute those involved in land grabbing, and also challenged Nairobi governor Mike Sonko to fire county officials involved in approving such illegal structures.

"Finally the illegal structure at Nyayo Stadium have come down. Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi, ODPP_KE, Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission Kenya you need to prosecute the people who grab public spaces. Governor Mike Sonko you need to fire the county officials who gave approvals for the structures to be built," reads the tweet
