Speaking on Thursday at the KCB Grounds in Kajiado, the governor ordered police to investigate and arrest all youths who were involved in the destruction of a perimeter wall at the newly constructed Kitengela market.

The governor said that it is unfortunate that some leaders want to take advantage of the jobless youths to frustrate him as he seeks to deliver on the promises he made to the people of Kajiado.

He made reference to an incident in which goons demolished a wall at a site where the ongoing construction of the Sh120 million Kitengela market is taking place.

The youths, who are believed to have been hired by some of the politicians, clashed with askaris from the county government leaving scores injured and property worth millions destroyed in the process.

The county boss reminded the youth that he will not sit back and watch them destroy public property that cost millions to construct as long as he remains in office.

"You will not destroy public property and get away with it,” warned Ole Lenku.

The governor issued cheques to 6,000 beneficiaries during the event.
