Former Machakos Deputy Governor Benard Kiala has reiterated his stand on the proposed Constitutional amendment.
Speaking in Kangundo sub-county on Sunday, Kiala said the referendum should be conducted according to how Kenyans want.
Kiala said he will only support the referendum if Kenyans are given more powers and money allocations for various development projects across the country to improve their living standards.
He said the government should construct facilities in every county headquarters for hanging those found guilty of corruption charges.
"If the recommendations for constitutional amendment include having a 'Golgotha' in every county headquarters where people found guilty of graft will be hanged, then I will support it a 100 percent," Kiala said.
"The current economic crisis being experienced in the country is due to the graft that has crippled our economy forcing Kenyans to struggle," he added.
Kiala said former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama together with himself made strides in fighting corruption in Machakos County Government during their tenure in office.
"When I was the deputy governor, there were 127 graft suspects in Machakos County Government. I together with the former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama, we were able to take 57 to court. They were prosecuted but 70 others remained and are still disturbing our county," Kiala said.
He had accompanied Muthama to a fundraiser at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kangundo, Machakos County.
