Barely a week after President Uhuru Kenyatta held meeting with his Deputy William Ruto over divisions within Jubilee party, Kalenjin Council of Elders has joined the debate, reports the Daily Nation.
Lately, divisions have rocked Jubilee party with Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen warning that such divisions could tear Jubilee party apart.
"There is a clique of individuals working hard to separate the president and his deputy. This should be addressed before we build a wall," he said.
While top Jubilee officials remain confident that the party is intact, a section of legislators have however come out and spoken about the divisions.
And the elders led by patron Gibert Kabage in Nakuru on Wednesday, challenged Uhuru to state in public whether he still backs Ruto's 2022 bid.
"We challenge President Uhuru to come out clear and say whether he still supports DP Ruto's 2022 bid. He should state whether he has changed his mind," he said.
He further said: "We also want him to furnish us with details of his MOU with former Prime Minister Raild Odinga so that we cure these growing differences."
Although Uhuru has remained quiet over the growing anxiety within Jubilee, his confidants among them David Murathe insists that he is only focused with service delivery.
So divisive have been the differences that Ruto's allies have dismissed the war against graft as witch-hunt to the DP over his 2022 bid.
