Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has joined other leaders in mourning former Vice President and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s father, Peter Musyoka Mairu.

The second-term governor took to Twitter to condole with the family after Mzee died on Saturday night at the Nairobi Hospital where he was undergoing treatment at the age of 94.  

Mutua termed Kalonzo's father's death as a big blow to the nation.

“My sincere condolences to @skmusyoka for the passing of your father. Pole sana to you and your family for the loss of Mzee. Death is so final and irreversible and hence so painful. God give you strength at this time of sadness and mourning. May Mzee Rest In Peace,” Mutua twitted.

Both President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have also eulogized the deceased as a hardworking man who was determined to change Kenyans' lives in different ways.

“Pole sana my brother @skmusyoka following the passing on of your Father Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu. We share in your grief. May God grant comfort to your family at this trying moment,” Raila twitted.

Other leaders have continued to send their messages of condolence to the family during this trying moments.
